Professional teacher in the field of dental technician and his teaching

This thesis focuses on the vocational education system, practitioners, and tuition of two medical fields of study: dental technician assistant and certified dental technician. The aim is to find out what the profile is of tutors in these fields, how they teach theoretical and applied subjects, and what the possibilities of didactical and content enhancement are. I conducted research to outline the situation in medical schools with the dental technician field of study. In the Czech Republic, there are 13 schools teaching the subject. The research was carried out as follows: I had sent electronic questionnaires to the schools and received answers from 54 vocational teachers, that's four teachers from each school. The quantitative research was further enriched by qualitative research in the form of interviews with practicing specialists, who commented on core competencies expected from the graduates to succeed as dental technicians. Results of the research pointed out that changes are needed not only in the educational methods that are applied but also in the content that is taught. The quantitative research shows that most of the teachers are women, who teach for 15 to 20 years. They do not work in the field, or only occasionally, as they teach full time. My goal was to identify current knowledge of students and teachers about safety and protection, their health and conditions at work. After this investigation, a ne set up is presented so that the working conditions and safety at work were satisfactory both in terms of security, personnel and humane. I chose the topic because I am not satisfied with the current situation. I want to see if there is an error in setting conditions or in ignorance of all concerned, or in disrespect and subsequently in existing non- compliance. I am applying survey method and after processing the data I will analyse the results and draw conclusions that lead to setting up Klíčová slova Safety, Workwear, Behavior, Dental technician, Laboratory.

Change of dental technicians competencies

This thesis deals with the proposal of competence change of dental technicians in the form of foreign model of denturist/clinical dental technician profession. The thesis includes draft of change management process of competences for non-medical medical staff in the Czech dentistry. The thesis also examines the opinions and attitudes of dental technicians towards given design of competencies and includes analysis and mapping of interest groups. In the theoretical part, terminology and legislation of the current model of dentistry in the Czech Republic is described. An issue of removable replacements as one of the areas of performance of dentists are defined in depth. It also defines the subject of removable replacements in statistical, demographic and economic contexts. Moreover, it describes models of multidisciplinary teams used in the Czech Republic and abroad. Lastly, the theory needed for change management is described and also includes hypothetical proposal of change of competencies of dental technicians, which among other things characterises used models for change implementation. Professional Training of Dental Technician Assistants and their Position while Entering the Labour Market

The aim of the thesis is to show requirements which emerge in the process of specific and really difficult professional education of dental technicians. Especially, the role of the high-school preparation and its focus on competences required by the labor market is being analyzed. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. Within the theoretical part; beginnings, history, traditions, the present and general characteristic of the branch dental technician is described. It also outlines professional and pedagogical aspects of the model of preparation of a dental technician and it describes ties with other related branches. The research and the practical part will follow the evaluation of the professional education level in the group of student and graduates from Střední zdravotnická a Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická (Medical High School) in České Budějovice. The research maps their opinions on their traineeships in clinical dental laboratories; three angles of views are emphasized: the view of students (or graduates), the views of educators and the views of specialists in clinical facilities.
